There are many occasions to ask for God's blessing and to give thanks. |

Thanksgiving for the Gift of a Child |
For the birth or adoption of a child. |
|
Baptism & Confirmation. |
In Baptism, parents thank God for His gift of life and make a decision to start the child on the journey of faith and ask for the Church’s support. Confirmation marks the point in the Christian journey when you affirm the faith into which you were baptised. Everyone is welcome to have their baby or child baptised at a Christening in their parish church. |
|
Weddings. |
Today more than a quarter of all marriages in England take place before God in the traditional setting of a Parish Church. You’re welcome to marry in church whatever your beliefs, whether or not you are baptised and whether or not you go to church |
|
Anniversaries & Special Occasions |
Make the church part of celebrating a special birthday or anniversary |
|
Funerals & Memorial Services |
A funeral is used to mark the end of a person’s life here on earth. Family and friends come together to express grief, give thanks for the life lived and commend the person into God’s keeping. Everyone is entitled to either a funeral service or a memorial service in their local parish by their local parish priest regardless of whether they attended church or not.
